Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” There is a reason for everything in Christ. We may go through hard times and experience trials, but God uses them for the good of his kingdom. That is so good! God has given me multiple opportunities now to relate to others because of the experiences I have been through. It is super sweet and allows me to connect more deeply with people. I can then share what I did during the trials and how God carried me through. How cool is it that we can help others who are going through what we have been through! God is the best! I am so glad that God has allowed me to relate to others differently! It is a sweet way to point it back to God and how good he is!

If you are going through a hard time, lean into God for strength because he will bring you through! Think about it…one day, you may be able to share that with others and help others come through the same trial! As Ecclesiastes 1:9 says, “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again, there is nothing new under the sun.” How amazing is it that the same trial can happen again, and you can help someone through it! It is such a blessing!

Sharing experiences that you have been through can be something small or big but either way, it can be a big help for someone going through it. I want to encourage you to look for opportunities to relate with people on a deeper level and share how you got through the hard times. It is the perfect way to bring God into the conversation and share his goodness!

  1. Great thoughts, Grace! Thanks for reminding us of this important truth. Here is another good comment from Paul on the subject:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ. (2 Corinthians 1:3–5)

    Keep looking up!

    Love, Papa

  2. Amen! The hope of being able to help others with how He spurred us on through our own detours is truly a beautiful gift from God! You are so right, it is a fabulous way to praise and bring glory to God while also comforting those God put in our path! Hebrews 10-12 have greatly encouraged me on some of my difficult days. Thank you for your insightful posts and your challenges to those of us blessed to read your posts.

  3. Dear Grace, how your words touch my soul! Thank you and may God show you the results of your labors this week.
