We get to rest in His loving arms! We get to run to him as kids, and our father, down on his knees, scoops us up in his loving embrace. We get to cling to Him in all circumstances, and we can be close to Him. As we stay close to him, it’s as if we’re lying on our father’s chest. We’re listening to his heartbeat, and we get to ask him what his heart beats for. He tells us where his heart is, and we get to go out and do ministry accordingly. When we know where his heart is, we also break when his heart breaks. It is so sweet that we get to be so close to him! When we rest in his loving arms, we become more like him. We are filled up with Him and then can overflow it to others. Let us spend the time to sit in his presence and be filled up with his character so that we can be more like him each day. It is explained in 1 Corinthians 11:1 when it says, “And you should imitate me just as I imitate Christ.” Paul is imitating Christ, and in the same way, we should imitate Christ. When we imitate Him, then we are an example to others. When we desire to be more like Christ, we are in a humble state where we realize areas that could be better, and we’re working towards it.

God has been speaking to me a lot through hugs. It is a delightful season of dependence. I tend to find safety and comfort in hugs, and God is breaking that down, showing me where the true comfort is. We are safe in the loving arms of our Father. We get to depend solely on God and rest in His presence. We have the blessing of being able to sit in His presence and be filled up with Him. We can lay everything at his feet and see how he moves. I pray that we will surrender everything to the Lord. May we surrender our wants and desires, fears and plans for the future at his feet and sit in his presence with open hands. Let us not reach back for what we surrendered but stay with open hands for everything that God wants to give us. As we surrender everything, we must depend on Him to fill us up, and from there we can overflow to others. How sweet that we can surrender, depend, and rest with our Father. He truly loves us so much! It is something that people have heard from the beginning and is repeated so much, but it is so important. Repetition means something is important, so let’s not overlook that God loves you. He loves you. He truly loves you and doesn’t want you to be numb to these words. Close your eyes and picture God on the throne. Picture yourself sitting at his feet, and he bends down, looking you straight in the eyes. He says I love you. Woah goosebumps!! God loves us!! Praise God for his faithful, unfailing love! Let’s run to our father and cling to him as he hugs us tightly.
