Quick reminder that the blog platform is changing. I am posting this here, but all future blog posts will be through missional life. Thanks for understanding!

God is so intentional about everything, and it is incredible! This past week there have been lots of moments that make me so grateful for the loving God we have.

We have been doing listening prayer in my team, and through it, God has been breaking down lies that I have believed about myself and replacing them with the truth. He is so good! He brought me to Psalm 95:6-7 the other day, which is so good! It says, “Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord, our maker, for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care. If only you would listen to his voice today.” Wow, it is crazy how good God is! He cares for us so much, and we are each so valuable! He wants to talk to us. We have to be still and listen. He is always ready to speak to us. We do not give him the time, space, or trust that He does talk to us. We need to make it a priority to listen to His voice and converse with Him. He desires to hear what we have to say but also wants us to listen to what He has to say.

After I read those verses, I sat with God and listened to what He was saying over me. It was so sweet and set a fire in me. I felt free and at peace by listening to what God had to say about me.

Before I even came on the race, I asked God if, for a ministry, I could do something with kids, exercise, and school. God is so intentional and loving! When we were given what ministries we were doing, all three boxes were checked! Yes, we do other ministries, but our primary ones have to do with those three, and that is so cool! Just the other day, I was talking to God and telling Him that I missed making popcorn. What happened the next day? Our ministry host told us we were running an event, and they needed someone to make popcorn. God is so gracious, and He listens to our desires. God has been teaching me that recently and it has been sweet to learn.

Over the past years, I have been nervous about praying out loud. God has taken me out of my comfort zone and prepared times for me to do so. He has given me the words and strength to do it, and now when I pray out loud, I do not overthink as much. He knew I needed to be pushed out of my comfort zone and not be nervous about praying out loud. The other day we had the opportunity to do a prayer intervention on behalf of a small town. We sat in a field and asked God what He was speaking over this place, and then we prayed out loud, thanking Him for that and praying it over the town. I was scared at first, but then I just started praying, and all of the nerves went away, and words kept coming out of my mouth. After that, I thought I was done, and God said no. He brought another thing to mind, and I prayed out loud again and then a third time. On the third time, my nerves were gone entirely, and I was in awe of His presence and thanked Him. I realized that praying out loud was not scary. I was overthinking it. God intentionally brought that time to break down the overthinking, and I am so thankful.

Two times now, we have done house visits, and before, we asked God what He wants us to paint and write. We then did house visits, and both times, God prompted me to give the person my paper and explain it. After hearing their stories, what was painted and written was precisely what they needed. God is so cool! It is such a blessing to let God work through us! Sometimes it is not as visible, but God is still working!

  1. What a blessing to read the above post. It is amazing to realize He hears and knows our heart’s. He knows what we are feeling before we even understand ourselves.
Praying much for you and your team.

  2. Thanks, Grace! It is exciting to learn from the activities you are doing and to see how God is working through them. We look forward to your weekly posts. Thanks for sharing. We are praying for you.

  3. Love, “Wow it is crazy how good God is!” That phrase is sticking with me because it’s so genuine in being an overflow of excited praise. May God continue to bless your journey, dear girl.

  4. Hey Grace. This is great! I love your story about praying for the town and not once but 3 times God gave you words to pray over the people in this town. How life giving! I love that you are not so self conscious, but becoming more God conscious and able to pray aloud. Of course, doing so often helps us find what was once uncomfortable become more comfortable the more we do it. Way to move out of your comfort zone!

  5. His faithful love endures forever!

I’m so glad you’re trusting God even on what to say in prayers, as He already knows your heart and what’s on your mind. You can be confident as Christ stated in Luke 12:12.
