How sweet the voice of God is. He always wants to talk to us. We need to listen and let him talk. Friendships are two ways, so we can not do all the talking. Instead, we should also listen to what God has to say. Our ministry host brought up two excellent illustrations, and I would love to share them with you! The first was this: God is like a radio station. He is always talking, but if we are not tuned to His station or have the volume on, we can not hear his sweet voice. This is a good reminder that we need to be listening for his voice because he is talking and wants us to hear what he is saying. The second illustration is this: You are in a crowded city, and you are lost. You call a friend who knows their way around. There are many distractions everywhere and lots of noise, so you must listen closely to instructions from your friend. The closer you listen to the friend, the less the noise and distractions affect you. In the same way, we should listen to God and let all the distractions and noises fade away until all we hear is God’s sweet voice. What excellent illustrations and reminders!
Now that I am more intentional about listening to his voice, I find that the walls of lies that I have believed are falling. He is replacing it with truth and love, which is such a sweet time. I am now quicker to break down lies that pop into my head, which is so nice! God is so amazing and worthy to be praised!!
God talks in so many different ways. Some include thoughts in our head, feelings, and the bible. There are many other ways he speaks, and that is amazing! God is so cool, and his voice is so sweet!!
He wants to talk to you and is ready. Are you ready?
God IS cool! May He bless you to see the fruit of your labors this week.
Thank you for sharing these great vivid illustrations that serve as great reminders of how much God loves us and truly longs for a deep relationship with us! How amazing that the God and Creator of the universe wants to know us and wants us to know Him intimately!! May we never lose perspective on how incredible that truth is!! May we got lost in His love and radiate it to all around us today!
Keep that helmet of salvation on tightly and over your ears to blunt out the lies of the enemy.
I love that I am continuing to learn more from you. It is a beautiful gift to transition even more into this next stage of our relationship. May our loving Lord fill you with peace, hope, and joy today and give you a big hug for me!
Thank you for reminding us to listen to that still small voice. Hence, God was not in the initial expectations that Elijah experienced in 1 Kings 19. I’m so glad you’re realizing you have to be intentional and tuned into God’s frequency. There’s so much noise out there that truth is “relative.” God will not be mocked…I pray that you will maintain that focus through prayer, God’s daily bread, and ministry. I can tell you from personal experience that if God doesn’t get your attention with taps on your shoulder, he can use a 2×4 –> I recommend the former 😉
